POTENTIAL LANDLORDS BEWARE!!!!!!!

This is a warning to any homeowner or landlord who is considering renting to an individual on Ontario Works. Please be advised the Ontario Works takes no responsibility for tenants who leave your property without notice, damage your rental space or steal items from your home. If you are considering renting to someone on the program, have them sign a form that the rental income is paid to you directly. Do not sign any intent to rent until you have this form signed and have spoken to the caseworker. Again, Ontario Works takes no responsibility for individuals who are receiving assistance on this program. Individuals who defraud the program are not pursued to repay you or the government and you will be left, at your own expense, to seek other avenues of compensation.
