The Government of Canada has issued a health advisory for international travellers following multiple outbreaks of the Oropouche virus reported in Brazil, Bolivia and Cuba.

The disease, while not new to the Americas, is showing a concerning increase in cases, particularly in regions where it was previously uncommon, with the majority of recent reports coming from Cuba.
